Ihsan: Hello. Welcome to IslamReligion.com.

Ihsan: How may I help you today?

you: What is islam?

Ihsan: Nice to meet you

Ihsan: Can I give you an overview about Islam?

you: Hello I'm Max. OK.

Ihsan: The Arabic word 'Islam' simply means 'submission', and is derived from a word meaning 'peace'. In a religious context it means complete submission to the will of God. Thus the religion of Islam is the acceptance of and obedience to the teachings of God which He revealed to His last prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Ihsan: Muslims believe in one, unique, incomparable God, Who has neither son nor partner, and that none has the right to be worshipped, invoked, supplicated to, or shown any act of worship but Him alone. God alone is the Almighty, the Creator, the Sovereign, and the Sustainer of everything in the whole universe. He manages all affairs. He stands in need of none of His creatures, and all His creatures depend on Him for all that they need.

Ihsan: -------------------------------------------------

Ihsan: Muslims also believe in the Angels created by God; in the prophets through whom God’s revelations were brought to mankind; in the Day of Judgement and individual accountability for actions; in God's complete authority over human destiny and in life after death.

Ihsan: Islam is basically the same religion preached by all the earlier prophets, in whom Muslims must also believe. These prophets starting with Adam and including Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Elias, Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus, peace be upon them. The main message of all the Prophets has always been that there is only One True God and He alone is worthy of being supplicated to and worshipped. But God's final message to man, a reconfirmation of the eternal message and a summing-up of all that has gone before was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through Gabriel.

Ihsan: -------------------------------------------------

Ihsan: Islam has 5 major pillars. They are:

Ihsan: 1. Belief in only one God and Muhammad as His Messenger.

Ihsan: 2. Prayer- 5 times a day.

Ihsan: 3. Paying the Zakaah – A type of help and charity, given to the needy.

Ihsan: 4. Fasting- in the month of Ramadan.

Ihsan: 5. Pilgrimage (Hajj) –compulsory once in one’s lifetime if one has good health and the financial means.

you: 1. Muhammad is the last prophet? How about Jesus and Budha? Are they also the true prophets?

Ihsan: Muslims believe in Jesus. In fact a Muslim cannot be a Muslim unless he believes in Jesus. But we believe in him not as a son of God but as a great Prophet and Messenger born a miraculous birth without a father to virgin Mary. He never claimed to be the son of God or said that he should be worshipped. Islam also teaches that Jesus was not crucified but was raised to God. He will return once again and will establish justice and peace on earth.

you: So who is the true prophet? How many god do we have and which one is the true god?

Ihsan: Let me explain to you why Islam is the true path

Ihsan: Every religion claims to be the true religion. Like every other religion or philosophy, Islam also claims to be the one and only true way to God.

Ihsan: The first way to identify a true religion from a false religion is to keep the superficial differences aside and focus on what the object of worship is. False religions all have in common one basic concept with regard to God - they either claim that all men are gods, or that specific men were God, or that nature is God, or that God is a figment of man’s imagination. False religions invite man to the worship of creation by claiming the creation or some aspect of it as God. Creation-worship is the greatest sin that man can commit because it contradicts the very purpose of his creation.

Ihsan: Man was created to worship God alone as Allah, Almighty God, has explicitly stated in the Qur’an: “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” [Qur’an 51:56]

Ihsan: For example, Prophet Jesus invited his followers to worship God, but those who claim to be Jesus’ followers today call people to worship Jesus, claiming that he was God. Buddha was a reformer who introduced a number of humanistic principles in the religion of India. He did not claim to be God, nor did he suggest to his followers that he be an object of worship. Yet today most Buddhists who are to be found outside of India have taken him to be God and they prostrate themselves to idols made in their perception of his likeness. The message of Islam, as brought by the prophets of God, is to worship only God (the Creator) and to avoid the worship of His creation either directly or indirectly.

Ihsan: Second way is to see the name of the religion:

Ihsan: A false religion will be named after a person, place or thing (again creation-oriented) - as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gautama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, Marxism after Karl Marx, Judaism after the tribe of Judah and Hinduism after the Hindus. The Arabic word “Islam” means the submission or surrender of one’s will to the only true God, known in Arabic as “Allah”. One who submits his will to God is termed in Arabic a “Muslim”. The religion of Islam is not named after a person or a people. Islam (submission to the will of God) is the religion which was given to Adam, the first man and the first prophet of God, and it was the religion of all the prophets sent by Allah to mankind.

Ihsan: The third way to identify a true religion is its universality:

Ihsan: The true religion of God cannot be confined to any one people, place, or period of time. Anyone at any time in the most remote regions of the world can become Muslim, a follower of God’s religion.

you: If Islam is the only true religion. How do I know that other religions are telling the true or not?

Ihsan: Every religion has some truth to it, but alot of the teachings within it, have been changed.

Ihsan: The true teachings in religion stem from the natural disposition of man, to do good and not to do evil

Ihsan: These are the teachings found amongst all religions.

Ihsan: As for Islam, then it is the complete truth, sicne it has been preserved from the day it was revealed to earth.

you: How the teachings have been changed and how is Islam has become the complete truth and be the first religion on earth?

Ihsan: Let me explain to you about the Quran, so you understand where I am coing from.

Ihsan: coming*

Ihsan: The Quran is a record of the exact words revealed by God through the Angel Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad. It was memorized by Muhammad and then dictated to his Companions, and written down by scribes, who cross-checked it during his lifetime. Not one word of its 114 chapters, Suras, has been changed over the centuries, so that the Qur'an is in every detail the unique and miraculous text which was revealed to Muhammad fourteen centuries ago.

Ihsan: The Quran, the last revealed Word of God, is the prime source of every Muslim's faith and practice. It deals with all the subjects which concern us as human beings: wisdom, doctrine, worship, and law, but its basic theme is the relationship between God and His creatures. At the same time it provides guidelines for a just society, proper human conduct and an equitable economic system.

you: Angel Gabriel in Quran? Wasn't he come from Christ? What his name in Quran? And if Quran is the complete truth book. How about Bible and other treatise, are they also true and how do I which one is the really true book?

Ihsan: The job of the Angel Gabrial is to bring the revelation to the prophets.

Ihsan: The Bible as itself, has been changed over the years, and cannot be accepted as the word of God.

you: If the angle gave the words to Muhammad. Did he give the words to other prophets? And wasn't Quran is the book of Islam and bible is the book of Christ? Do they know each other or Christ has been copied from Islam?

Ihsan: Yes, but God did not promise in the Bible to protecct it from change.

Ihsan: But in the Quran, God has given this promise, that is will be preserved

you: Do they know each other and copy from other. How is that happen and how do I know that? And if Quran is the truth among others, How do I know it's the only book that I have to believe in?

Ihsan: They do not copy from each other

Ihsan: The one who reads the Bible and then the Quran, will know they are different.

Ihsan: just because some events that are mentioned in the Bible, are found in the Quran, it does not mean they are a copy of each other.

Ihsan: Rather they both come from the same source, God, but one has changed over time, which is the Bible

you: Are they any events from Bible in Quran? Which events in bible are the same as Quran and how is it has changed. And if they come from God, so what did he want from humans?

Ihsan: If Moses came to mankind, why was Jesus sent?

you: I don't know? Is it possible that he has been send by the same god as Moses to change the word in Bible because maybe something must be change and god has changed his mind like human society change from generation to generation to improve people's life?

Ihsan: He was sent becaue the Jews had left the teachings of the Torah

Ihsan: Why is it so hard to accept that Muhammed, peace and blessings be upon him, was sent after the Bible had changed from what was originally revealed to Jesus.

you: Sorry, I don't know about Jews and Torah. Could you explain that please? I think prophets have learned from God in different ways like humans learn from school and we know different things and have different opinions and they have born in different place so they know different people to develop their different skills of teaching. Maybe God want us to be good, happy and safe but his prophets have learned different so they have told us different.

Ihsan: Can I give you some links regarding the Bible?

you: yes please.

Ihsan: 101 Contradictions in the Bible

Ihsan: http://www.missionislam.com/comprel/biblecontra.html

you: OK, I have read some of them so are their any error in every treatises from each prophet in past years? And if Muhammad and Jesus come from god. Is Buddha comes from god too? And if he didn't come from god. How did he know how to salvation?

Ihsan: Buddha or other historic figures, have not been mentioned to us in the Quran as them being Prophets.

Ihsan: So we cannot affirm or deny that.

you: So how did he know how to salvation? Maybe god didn't say tell him or he was an angel who didn't close to god and it was time for him to be birth on the earth so maybe he have learned by himself and to tell his follower and Buddhist. Do you think this is possible?

Ihsan: What is possible and what is not, is not for me to answer.

Ihsan: As these matters require confirmation from revelation, and cannot be determined by one's own effeort

you: But Buddhism have their own treatises too but they are different from Quran and Bible. Could that be the revelation of god or teaching from an angel (Just my opinion) because it's not in Quran.

Ihsan: If it was originally from God, then it has to be from God.

Ihsan: But we have no evidence from Islam to prove that

you: Is it possible that this revelation was not in Quran because God didn't make his decision in that because the Buddha was not known to God but have learned from others. but he maybe an angel because he knows how to salvation. And if Muhammad Jesus and Buddha know how to salvation. May they have come from God in different time?

Ihsan: No that is impossible.

Ihsan: Because everything is known to God.

you: But how did he know how to salvation. Is it possible that the God didn't make decision to send him on earth so he was not in the revelation?

Ihsan: He probably learnt it from other teachings

you: But he didn't learn from anyone because he was a teacher by himself. Nobody have known how to do it until he teach his people in his country.

Ihsan: That is not for sure

you: Maybe have have to search for his evidence but I think the prophets of god have different thought from their learning and have been send in different time. angels in heaven maybe so many like humans so earth so they have born and learn in different country so they may have different opinions.

Ihsan: No, because they all come from the same source,

Ihsan: There teachings only differ when it comes to laws and jurisprudence

you: How do you know that they have learned different?

Ihsan: I said they have learned the same belief system

Ihsan: But they differ when it comes to laws

you: Maybe they have learned from the same source but may have different opinion in their laws.

Ihsan: Prophethood is not something that is learned, but rather it is revelation.

Ihsan: God chooses his prophets,

you: OK, Sir. Revelation. God may have chosen different prophets.

Ihsan: Yes he has

Ihsan: But we cannot guess which prophets they were unless we have been told by God.

you: How do you know that?

Ihsan: Since, this information only comes to us through revelation

Ihsan: It is not for us to determine who si a Prophet and who is not

you: Is it possible that a prophet hasn't been written in revelation yet because god didn't make his decision?

Ihsan: No that is impossible

Ihsan: God has decreed everything that will happen on this earth 50 000 years before he created the heavens and earth

you: So why the Buddha wasn't in his list even he was a teacher who know how to salvation by himself. Didn't god make a decision about him because he was not in the revelation.

Ihsan: We do not know the reality of the situation. Thefore, it is impossible to draw conclusions, based on nothing

you: So we don't know because he's not on the list. Maybe his revelation was missing or something.

Ihsan: Even for arguement's sake, he was a prophet; we cannot follow him because the Prophet Muhammed is the one who is suppose to be followed.

you: Yes, he is the one even god have sent the other one from time to time.

Ihsan: Let me explain to you why I believe Islam is the true path.

Ihsan: Every religion claims to be the true religion. Like every other religion or philosophy, Islam also claims to be the one and only true way to God.

you: If they are false religion because it named after prophet names will they still be the prophets of god because they have sent by the god. Isn't that also make them the truth religions and you have combine the good parts of each religion to make it perfect.

Ihsan: If God did choose them, they are not responsibile for what people did after their death

Ihsan: I am sorry; I need to go now as my shift has come to an end. If you wish I can transfer you to my colleague.

you: What they did after their death? People kill each other everyday even in the religion wars. You have to agree that each religion has their flaw. That's why the God has sent another prophets to make it perfect. That why we have to wait for the prophet that can see the goodness of each religion and combine them together to make it the perfect religion to also stop the Religion Wars.

Ihsan: I am sorry but my shift is over
